Things To Know About Multi Gas Detector

By | July 11, 2018

Multi Gas Detector are designed to detect a variety of gases which need to be monitored based on your application. It can be either fixed or portable gas detector and commonly used to detect the gases within the desired area. Multi gas detector comes with 2 different types of detector – Diffusion model consists of a sensor and detector body in itself to detect while the pump model has an option to insert the hose up to 30m long for getting the optimum solution based on the application i.e. confined space with lack of air movement, ambient conditions, pipeline etc. Types of gases which can be measured are Oxygen concentration levels, Toxic gases, combustible gases. There are devices available to detect 4 to 5 gases simultaneously. It also comes with features of data logging and user configuration for selecting different gases.Multi gas detector

Why Multi Gas Detector Are Important

Detecting the chemicals from the hazardous place is very important, especially from confined space, tanks, pipelines when there will be leakage of hazardous gases and usually employ an audible alarm to alert people when a dangerous gas has been generated. Toxic gases like CO2, Chlorine, Nitrogen dioxide which generates from painting, fuel fillings, entering confined space needs to be recorded and alerted before it effects on human health.

Dräger X-am® 2500 Multi Gas Detector especially designed to detects 4 gases including toxic gases, flammable gases, and oxygen depletion levels. It works with features of the Durable electrochemical sensor, fast & easy in operating, The Dräger X-am 2500 multi gas detector can operate with either alkaline batteries power supply or with rechargeable NiMH batteries. It targets on gases like O2, CO, H2S, NO2, SO2 with ranges of O2: 0 – 25 Vol.-%, CO: 0 – 2,000 ppm, H2S: 0 – 100 ppm, NO2: 0 – 50 ppm, SO2: 0 – 100 ppm with Visual, Audible, Vibration Alarm.

Its operating time is greater than 12 hours with alkaline and NiMH, > 13 h with NiMH HC, > 250 h w/o Ex sensor with alkaline batteries. Having IP67 protection class enclosure and charging time < 4 h.

Most of the quality Gas Detectors come with replaceable sensor option which eases the operation on the field. Also, the detectors are certified by various bodies like ATEX, IECEx, CE mark, MED which authenticates these detectors to be used in hazardous locations like Class II A, II B & II C
