Radon Gas

Radon is radioactive gas which escapes from ground to the air. It produces from the natural radioactive decay of uranium, which is found in rocks and soils, it is also be found in water. This Radon is naturally occurring radioactive gas which has high concentration in indoor environments, such as houses, schools, colleges and workplaces etc.

How does Radon effects?

Radon can be in indoor and outdoor environment. Radon gas which produces in outdoors is quickly dilutes to very low concentrations which is not a big problem. Radioactivity is measured in units called Becquerel (Bq). One Becquerel corresponds to the transformation (disintegration) of one atomic nucleus per second. Radon concentration in air is measured by the number of transformations per second in a cubic meter of air (Bq/m3). The average outdoor radon level1 varies from 5 Bq/m3 to 15 Bq/m3 But compare to outdoor Radon effect in the indoor is very effective to the Human Resources. In buildings such as homes, schools, offices, radon levels can vary substantially from 10 Bq/m3 to more than 10 000 Bq/m3 which is very high and causes the risk of lung cancer.

We spend 90% of our time indoors – where air quality is 2 to 5 times worse than outdoor air.

In the air, radon breaks down into tiny radioactive elements (radon progeny) that can lodge in the lining of the lungs, where they can give off radiation. This radiation can damage lung cells and eventually lead to lung cancer.

As with most contaminants, the danger of radon arises from high levels or prolonged exposure over time. This is why continual monitoring is key to understanding your risk.

What are the precautions to take to avoid the radon gas?

Radon Gas VS Your Health

Radon Gas Is the second leading cause of lung cancer after cigarette smoking. If you smoke and live in a home with high radon levels, you increase your risk of developing lung cancer. It is our responsible to save our environment and human lives too.

  • Purchase and monitor the radon levels in the living atmosphere.
  • Test continuously at your Home and working space
  • Stop smoking and discourage smoking in your home
  • Increase the air flow in your house by opening windows, using fans and vents.
  • Seal the cracks in floors and walls with plaster, or other materials designed for this purpose.

Why it is important to measure Radon?

Radon is a radioactive gas which produces from the ground in anywhere so we should take minimum health care to defend our lives from radon, to detect Radon there are some detectors that are one of the best weapon to detect and monitor the track of radon gas so that we can alert and escape from those dangerous gas and save our lives.

Here, we are Instrukart one stop solutions for instrumentations from last 25 years. We suggest some of the best Radon Detectors which helps you to detect and prevents your family, friend and employees from radon effects to have a safe and strong lives.

Radon Detectors:

Radon Detectors has an advanced air quality technology and battery operated Air Quality Monitor that keeps your family safe from hazardous air pollutants like Radon, Particulate matter (PM), carbon dioxide (CO2), humidity, temperature, airborne chemicals (VOCs) and air pressure. This Radon Air Quality monitor is battery-operated, wireless, and Wifi Connected, and Includes a customizable display. Users can see the insights and download reports with the help of an Online Dashboard and (IOS/Android) Application.

Applications: Home, Office, Hospitals, Indoor Stadiums, Cleanrooms, Pharma labs, etc.
